At the Children’s Diabetes Foundation symposium in Linköping, 17-18 October, Dr Araz Rawshani, co-founder of Diabeteson.com, received Johnny Ludvigsson Prize for younger child diabetes researchers. The prize was handed over by the Crown Princess. The justification was as follows:

Dr. Araz Rawshani has, after his young age, performed outstanding research in type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes published in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Circulation, Diabetes Care, among others — being significant author. His research interest encompasses large scale epidemiological studies and randomized controlled clinical trials. He has implemented modern techniques such as machine learning and artificial intelligence in his studies of metabolism and diabetes.

We need to continue research, more than ever.

The only way forward is research. To prevent and cure type 1 diabetes, even more research is needed. Swedish research is a world leader and you who donate money to the BarnDiabetes Fund contribute valuable resources to the work of researchers. Every penny is important. Go to the Children’s Diabetes Foundation website and donate money today to speed up researchers’ progress.
